Stop paying the category-learning tax
Most advertising agencies specialize. That is not a criticism; specialization is usually why they are good at what they do.
The problem is that most specialize in categories such as home services, dental practices, legal leads, SaaS or general ecommerce. A firearms company that hires them pays for two engagements at once: the advertising work and the agency’s education in a market it does not yet understand.
That learning curve appears in targeting, keyword selection, creative, platform decisions, landing-page recommendations and the questions the client has to answer before the agency can execute. Even a detailed internal plan can fail in the hands of a team that does not know enough about the category to recognize what the plan assumes.
Proof Mark Digital removes that layer. Rob has spent years leading and implementing growth strategy at the Director level across national brands, including direct work inside the firearms market. The engagement begins with the specifics of your business—not an introduction to why the product, audience and restrictions are different from the agency’s last account.
Platform policy is a constraint, not a media plan
Mainstream platforms do not treat every firearms-related product the same way. Some offers are prohibited. Some are permitted only under narrow conditions. Some can be advertised, but not with the imagery, terminology, destination or targeting an inexperienced advertiser would naturally choose.
Rob marketed holsters across Facebook, Instagram and Google without being able to show firearms in the creative—and still generated millions in paid-media revenue.
That does not mean every restricted product can be made acceptable through clever phrasing. Proof Mark does not sell policy evasion. We determine what the platform permits, how the permissible offer can be presented, whether the remaining campaign still makes commercial sense and when the budget belongs somewhere else.
Sometimes the correct answer is compliant search creative. Sometimes it is a product-specific landing page. Sometimes the audience can be reached through an adjacent offer. Sometimes the brand needs programmatic inventory, an industry publication, a sponsorship, an affiliate relationship or another channel that does not force the product into a system fundamentally hostile to it.
The value is not finding a trick that keeps one ad live. It is building a paid acquisition mix that can continue operating.
PPC is one part of paid acquisition
Search captures existing demand well, but not every product has enough searchable demand to support the growth target. Paid social can create and shape demand, but only where the platform, audience and creative make that practical. Industry media can provide direct access to qualified customers, but inventory quality and economics vary widely.
Proof Mark evaluates those channels as parts of one paid system.
That can include Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising, paid social, programmatic campaigns, industry publications, sponsorships, affiliate placements and direct media buying. The mix depends on where the audience can actually be reached, what the brand is allowed to say, what the offer can support and how each channel contributes to the sale.
A channel does not earn budget because it appears in an agency capability deck. It earns budget by giving the business a credible route to qualified demand at an acceptable cost.
The same standard applies within a platform. Campaign structure, query targeting, audiences, creative, offers, landing pages and bid strategy have to support the same objective. More traffic is not an improvement when it brings the wrong customer or creates a funnel the economics cannot sustain.
Senior strategy with hands on the controls
Proof Mark can lead paid strategy, execute campaigns, manage an ongoing program or support an internal team that needs senior direction and platform expertise.
Rob’s background is not limited to reviewing reports after a junior team has made the decisions. He has led growth functions and implemented the work across multiple national brands. That keeps strategy connected to the reality of the accounts: search terms, audience response, creative fatigue, conversion behavior, platform volatility and the budget decisions that have to happen before the monthly presentation.
Reporting is built to explain what changed, why it changed and what should happen next. Impressions, clicks and platform-reported conversions are inputs. The business still needs to know whether the campaigns are creating revenue, qualified leads, customers or another outcome worth buying.
When paid performance depends on work outside the ad account—landing-page messaging, conversion tracking, creative production, email follow-up or website friction—Proof Mark can connect those disciplines rather than pretending the platform operates in isolation.
The campaign still has to look like your brand
Category knowledge does not replace testing. It makes the tests worth running.
A team that understands the audience can begin with informed assumptions about products, terminology, objections, use cases and the threshold at which creative stops feeling credible. From there, the market still gets the final vote.
Proof Mark develops and refines campaigns through audience performance, query behavior, offer response, creative iteration and conversion data. We do not use industry experience as an excuse to lock in one idea. We use it to avoid wasting the first several rounds on mistakes that were predictable before launch.
That distinction is particularly important in firearms marketing, where an ad can be technically polished and still expose that the people behind it do not understand the customer. The audience notices. Paid media makes the brand pay for every person who notices.
Put the budget where it can work.
Tell us what you sell, where you are advertising now, what restrictions you have encountered and what a qualified conversion is worth. We will identify the paid-media conversation the business actually needs to have.
Tell us what needs to move.
Give us the goal, the constraint and what has already been tried. The more context you provide, the faster we can determine which capabilities belong in the conversation.
One of the managing partners will review the details and follow up within one business day.
